Astrocytoma diagnosis

The examination methods for astrocytoma are as follows: 1. Imaging examination: MRI includes plain scan and enhancement, while plain scan includes T1 and T2 images. Diffuse astrocytoma usually presents as long T1 and long T2, with no obvious enhancement. However, there are still some sequences, including DWI and spectral analysis, that can help determine the nature of the tumor. Spectral analysis also plays a helpful role in determining whether it is a glioma, including astrocytoma. The increase of Cho peak and the decrease of NAA peak in spectral analysis also provide reference for determining whether it is a glioma. There is also CT, which has a certain helpful role in determining bleeding and calcification, so the CT for admission examination is also crucial. Some gliomas have internal calcification, which may be further clarified by CT examination. 2. Other examinations: Video EEG monitoring should be performed for epileptic seizures, which can help to determine the epileptic focus. Other examinations are closely related to surgery, including blood, urine, chest X-ray, electrocardiogram, etc.
