Bone and soft tissue tumors

Extensive or radical resection is currently the preferred treatment. For tumors of fingers and toes, amputation is recommended. For patients with regional lymph node metastasis, regional lymph node dissection can be performed simultaneously. Because the tumor tends to spread along the aponeurosis or fascia and to metastasize along the lymphatic route, it is safer to amputee below the elbow for larger tumors deep in the palm. Amputation should be performed in recurrent cases. Although chemoradiotherapy is beneficial to advanced patients, its value as adjuvant therapy remains to be studied.
