Gallbladder cancer symptom
Because the bile ducts are deep within the body, the symptoms and signs of bile duct cancer are usually not visible until the late stage.
The most common symptoms of biliary cancer include:
Jaundice: Yellowing of skin and eye white. Jaundice is caused by high levels of bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced by the breakdown of red blood cells. Usually processed by the liver and excreted through the bile duct. Excessive bilirubin may be a sign of liver or bile duct dysfunction.
Itching: When excessive bilirubin reaches the skin, it can cause skin itching.
Loss of appetite or unexplained weight loss
fatigue
Nausea and/or fever: These symptoms are often caused by abnormal liver function, infections caused by blocked bile ducts, or elevated bilirubin.
Light colored feces and dark colored urine: Bile gives the feces a unique brown color. If there is a problem with the bile ducts, the bile cannot enter the small intestine, and the stool may become pale.
Abdominal mass enlargement: If a bile duct tumor grows and interferes with surrounding organs, it can cause a visible mass to the naked eye.
Abdominal pain and/or bloating can occur in the late stage of cholangiocarcinoma.
Having one or more of these symptoms does not necessarily mean that you have biliary cancer. However, it is crucial to discuss these conditions with doctors so that the disease can be diagnosed early.
