Thoracic tumor

The symptoms of thymoma can vary from person to person, and many patients have no symptoms at all.

Many thymoma symptoms are associated with myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease that can be caused by this cancer. Other symptoms are caused by the tumor pressing on nearby organs and structures, such as blood vessels.

Symptoms of thymoma include:

Persistent cough, sometimes accompanied by bloody sputum or mucus

Persistent chest pain or pressure

Shortness of breath

dysphagia

A husky voice

Swelling of the face, neck, upper body, or arms

myasthenia

anaemia

Frequent infection

Unexplained weight loss

These symptoms don't always mean you have a thymoma. However, it is important to discuss any thymoma symptoms with your doctor, as they may signal other health problems.
