Osteosarcoma研究进展
The main treatment method for bone cancer is surgery, but it also includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, proton therapy, and targeted therapy. Develop customized treatment plans based on the needs of each patient. Surgical treatment is the main treatment method for most bone cancers. Both biopsy and surgery should be performed by experienced surgeons. Incorrect biopsy location may lead to surgical problems and reduce the chance of successful treatment. If possible, the same surgeon should perform both biopsy and surgery simultaneously. Biopsy will help surgeons more accurately locate tumors. The purpose of surgery is to remove as many tumors as possible. If there are residual cancer cells, they may grow and spread. In order to obtain as many cancers as possible, surgeons performed extensive resection surgery. This includes removing cancer cells and the edges of healthy tissue around the cancer cells. If the tumor is in the arm or leg, surgeons are almost always able to perform limb preservation surgery, which will remove cancer cells but allow you to fully utilize your leg or arm. In order to replace the bone removed during surgery, bone transplantation or internal devices called internal prostheses can be performed. If this is not possible, amputation or limb removal may be performed. Reconstruction surgery or prostheses will be required. Rehabilitation is necessary after any type of surgery. Chemotherapy may be recommended for the treatment of osteosarcoma or Ewing's sarcoma. In osteosarcoma, it is usually used before surgery to shrink the tumor, making it easier to remove, and after surgery, it is used to destroy the remaining cancer cells. Chemotherapy is also used for bone cancer that metastasizes to the lungs or other organs. Radiation therapy for bone cancer is not very sensitive to radiation, so radiation is usually not a treatment method. Sometimes, if the tumor cannot be operated on or if cancer cells still exist after surgery, it may be given. If bone cancer recurs, radiation therapy may help alleviate symptoms. New radiation therapy technologies and extraordinary skills enable doctors to more accurately target tumors and provide the maximum dose of radiation with minimal damage to healthy cells. Proton therapy: Proton therapy injects high-dose radiation directly into the tumor, preserving nearby healthy tissues and important organs. Targeted treatment of these new drugs is used to help combat certain types of bone cancer, including chordoma. Targeted therapy attacks cancer cells by using small molecules to block the pathways of cell survival and reproduction.
