After the outbreak of the flood, Yizhou Cancer Hospital has always been on the front line and has taken on enormous social responsibility. Under the leadership of Chairman Han Lianhe and President Han Jian of the group, our hospital serves as a resettlement site, promptly resettling the affected population, actively providing medical and health services, providing drinking water for the surrounding population, and distributing a large number of disaster stricken materials, which has been highly praised by the public. Actively promoting disaster relief and free clinics to assist residents in post disaster reconstruction

At the end of August, Yizhou Cancer Hospital, in collaboration with Zhuozhou City Hospital, recruited key medical staff to form a joint medical expert group. They went deep into communities such as Shui'an Huacheng and Lianhe No.7 Hospital, which were severely affected by the disaster, and held "post disaster expert free consultation and science popularization in communities" activities to provide professional medical assistance services for residents in post disaster reconstruction and spread health and hygiene knowledge.

The Shui'an Huacheng Community in Zhuozhou City has become one of the severely affected communities due to its location on the north bank of the Juma River. So far, the problem of accumulated water and sediment in the basement of the community is serious, and the cleaning work has not been completed. Multiple elevator shafts in buildings have not been repaired, resulting in most elevators being unable to operate and life being very inconvenient. The community health room is also unable to open to the public due to waterlogging, and community medical and health services urgently need assistance.

After learning of the news of the expert medical team's free clinic, residents in need of help in the small square in front of the Water Bank Flower City Community Management Office lined up early, waiting for the expert's diagnosis and treatment.

In front of the free clinic service desk, residents in need of assistance consciously form three queues to provide health diagnosis and treatment services such as disease consultation, blood sugar testing, and blood pressure measurement. The members of the expert group patiently answered the symptoms faced by each patient who came for consultation, provided effective health management suggestions, and greatly alleviated the physical and mental problems of the community residents. The mental state of the disaster victims who received diagnosis and treatment services generally improved, and their smiles were written on their faces. The disaster victims who received assistance expressed in their post diagnosis chat that they would welcome their future lives with a healthier and more open attitude, and also face the post disaster reconstruction work with a more positive and optimistic attitude.

Sister Wang, who always feels lethargic, carefully examined by the director of the respiratory department, Fang Bin, and found that her health status is not a major problem. It is just that the mental burden caused by the disaster pressure is relatively heavy, with some "aftermath of disaster trauma". In response to the symptoms, the director patiently guided and transformed physical problems into psychological problems, guiding Sister Wang to actively face reality, not escape the impact of the disaster, and put down her mental burden. Finally, Sister Wang was able to release her psychological accumulation and improve her mental state. Finally, Sister Wang held Director Fang's hand for a long time and refused to let go. She thanked the expert group for letting her put down her mental burden and no longer had to face life sickly.

Uncle Du, who always feels chest tightness, bowed deeply to the expert group members after the medical staff tested his blood sugar and blood pressure and found that his physical condition was not seriously affected. He repeatedly thanked the expert group and expressed his deep gratitude for the expert group's behavior of conducting free clinics in the community, which helped him and his neighbors better understand their physical condition and have more confidence in post disaster life.

For those who are inconvenient to go downstairs, the expert team braved the scorching heat and climbed up buildings without elevators to go deep into the homes of disaster victims, providing door-to-door free clinic services for patients. For Sister Zhang who suffers from COVID-19's sequelae, check the CT and examination results, analyze her condition, and treat her patiently. Let Zhang Jie's family be grateful.

The expert group not only provided disaster relief and free consultations for the residents of Waterbank Flower City, but also carried a batch of health and hygiene supplies, including disinfectant, disinfectant wipes, sanitary napkins, diapers, towels and other daily necessities. They were distributed free of charge to the residents of the community and conducted health science popularization for the residents, which was highly praised by the disaster victims.

Many people have expressed that due to their families being soaked in water, a large amount of stains need to be cleaned up. These daily necessities are urgently needed by the people, and they are the ones they urgently need. The arrival of the expert group has solved the urgent need for them.

Medical staff will also carefully teach the use of disinfectant and teach disaster victims how to safely disinfect, dispose of household hygiene reasonably, and improve their quality of life.

Rescue the disaster and enter the largest resettlement site in Zhuozhou

In addition to participating in the joint medical expert group for post disaster reconstruction and free clinics, Yizhou Cancer Hospital, under the command of Dean Han Jian, directly organized an expert group to go to the largest resettlement site in Zhuozhou City, Zhuozhou Third Middle School, to hold a free clinic activity and provide diagnostic and treatment services for over 5000 disaster victims who were resettled there.

Our hospital dispatched an expert medical team led by Vice President Gao Bo, Assistant Dean Bai Jing, and Deputy Director of the Medical Department Zhang Jialong to conduct free consultations. Despite the scorching heat and lack of electricity and relying solely on external donations for drinking water, the living environment of the disaster victims in Zhuozhou Third Middle School is not optimistic. The pessimistic atmosphere of the disaster situation permeates every corner of the resettlement site, and there are many victims who have been injured or sick due to the disaster. Looking at the expectant gaze and the situation faced by the disaster victims, all members of the expert group took action, racing against time, striving for more diagnosis and treatment, and trying to help every patient in need in the disaster area as much as possible. For this reason, it wasn't until 2 pm that the sweaty members of the free clinic expert group ate their already cold breakfast. Swallow a few steamed buns in a bolt, and then the expert team once again engages in intense diagnosis and treatment work.

At the resettlement site, patients receiving free clinic services, ranging from children with colds and fever to elderly people with limited mobility, from rescue team members with sunburn to volunteers with hoarse voices, from diarrhea patients to fracture patients, as well as patients with various symptoms such as abrasions, sunburn, diarrhea, hypertension, etc., all receive timely treatment under the diagnosis and treatment of our hospital's experts.

For elderly people with mobility difficulties, Director Zhao Keyu and members of the expert group also climbed up and down in buildings without elevators to find patients lying in the hallway. The old man burst into tears when he saw the members of the expert group. Director Zhao patiently diagnosed and treated the patient's condition while calming their emotions until the old man regained his composure.

The free clinic activity lasted for a week, greatly alleviating the condition of the affected people, greatly relieving their anxiety, and contributing to social stability, playing an important role.

Yizhou Cancer Hospital, in the face of water, electricity, and network outages in surrounding areas during the onset of floods, relied on backup power supply equipment and its own water purification system to ensure normal operation of the hospital without delaying the treatment of hospitalized patients. As a resettlement site, it received over 1200 disaster victims and provided them with daily necessities. Up to now, more than 200 disaster victims still reside in hospitals. Our hospital has taken a series of measures in the flood disaster of Zhuozhou, undertaken enormous social responsibility, won praise from surrounding people, and gained unanimous recognition from the local government and the public.
