Retinoblastoma begins in the eye, which is where its symptoms can first be seen. Symptoms of retinoblastoma include:

An opaque white area in the pupil (called a cataract), caused by light reflected from a tumor. This can often be seen in photos taken with flash. Children with this condition should see an eye doctor as soon as possible. Even in cases unrelated to retinoblastoma, the condition can threaten a patient's vision.

Problems with eye movement, such as strabismus (strabismus)

Decreased vision in one eye

ophthalmodynia

Larger-than-normal eyeballs

amblyopia

Red eyes

Retinoblastoma is rare. If your child has these symptoms, they may be caused by a less serious illness. However, it's a good idea to talk to your doctor to rule out other health problems.
