Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma accounts for about 2/3 of rhabdomyosarcoma, and is most common in children and adolescents. The age distribution shows two peaks, that is, after birth and late adolescence, with an average age of 5 years. Good hair head, neck, urogenital tract and retroperitoneum. The course of the disease is short, the main symptoms are painful or painless mass, red swelling on the skin surface, and high skin temperature. The tumors varied in size, were hard in quality, and most of the masses were fixed at the time of visit. Tumor growth is fast, there may be skin rupture, bleeding. Pain may occur when the tumor presses on the nerve. Head and neck mass may have exophthalmos, bloody discharge, nose bleeding, swallowing and breathing disorders. Urogenital tumors are characterized by vaginal bloody discharge, hematuria and urinary retention, and the anal finger may reach the pelvic mass. This type mostly metastases to retroperitoneal lymph nodes and regional lymph nodes, and late stage is often accompanied by hematogenous metastasis.
Acinar rhabdomyosarcoma is more common in adolescents than in females. Good hair limbs, head and neck, trunk, perineum, etc., can also occur in the eye orbit. The main symptom is a painful or painless mass, which can cause pain, compression symptoms and sensory disturbance when the tumor presses on the peripheral nerves and invades the surrounding tissues and organs. Lymph node metastasis and hematogenous spread can occur early, and hematogenous spread to the lungs.
Pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma mainly occurs in adults, most commonly in the age of 40 to 70 years. Good hair limbs and trunk, located in the muscle hypertrophy, such as the quadriceps, the adductor muscle of the thigh and the biceps. The tumor often infiltrates outside the envelope and forms multiple nodules at distant muscle intervals. The duration of the disease varies, with more than 20 years. The main symptoms are painful or painless masses that are located within the muscle and have unclear boundaries. When the tumor invades the skin surface, there may be skin temperature, rupture and bleeding. This type of tumor is characterized by large, mostly in 5 ~ 10 cm, but also up to 40 cm. The mass is hard and cystic. Pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma may present with lymph node metastasis.
